With the COVID-19 crisis, fundamental changes in supply chains, and routes to market are stretching resources to their limit. The scale of its impact eclipses anything most manufacturers will have seen before.
In an effort to mitigate this situation, your team at Genisco has been working to turn massive complexity and supply chain disruption into controlled planning, all to better serve you.
We are regularly in contact with our key suppliers to review the status of all raw materials and have been reassured of continuity. While the majority of our materials and services are sourced in the United States, we have built in contingencies globally, should the need to source from other geographies become necessary.
How does this impact you?
- While our operations and logistics capabilities position us favorably to continue to consistently serve our customers, please know that there is an increase in production lead times for most of our components.
- At Genisco, we negotiate rates with our suppliers daily to ensure the best pricing for our customers. Prior to COVID-19, we could hold quotes for up to 3 months but now, due to market fluctuation rates for raw materials, such as steel, we are reducing our quote times from 90 to 30 days.
Despite the current supply chain disruptions, your Genisco Team is working around the clock to guarantee fluid operations. We are top staffed, running at full production and have growth plans initiated in order to meet the increased demand head on.
